Fruitask Workspace + Add-ons + Agentic AI

The heart of Fruitask: flexible data tables and multiple views, fine-grained collaboration, public publishing, an add-on marketplace, and an AI agent that can take actions for you.

Overview

A workspace holds your tables (data), views, members, automations, calendars, chat, and add-ons. You structure data in tables, view it in the way that fits the job, share it with the right permissions, publish it to the public web, extend it with add-ons, and let an agentic AI help you get work done.

Workspace Data & Views

Tables

  • Flexible tables with typed columns (text, number, dropdown/single- and multi-select, checkbox, date, currency, percentage, attachments, links, and more).
  • Child tables for nested/related records.
  • Rows support comments, revisions/history, and AI assistance.

Views

  • Grid (spreadsheet-style)
  • Kanban (board by status)
  • Timeline (Gantt-style by date)
  • Card view (visual cards, via the Card View add-on)
  • Calendar-style scheduling (via Calendar)
  • Filter, sort, and group your data; arrange tables into folders.

Collaboration & Permissions

  • Invite collaborators to a workspace and assign a role:
    • Viewer — read-only.
    • Editor — full edit.
    • Custom — a precise set of granted permissions.
  • Permissions are granular, covering things like: add/edit/delete rows, add rows with AI, manage columns, manage members, comments, chat (preview/send), launch/publish settings, plugins (view/install/manage), and more.
  • Permissions can also be scoped per table, so a member’s effective access is the overlap of their workspace role and the table’s rules.
  • Groups let you manage permissions and points for sets of members.

History & Resilience

  • Revisions track changes so you can review history.
  • Offline support: changes made offline queue up and sync when you reconnect (only when you have permission to make those changes).

Import & Export

  • Import data into tables and export as CSV/JSON/TSV.
  • Use templates to start quickly.

Publishing (Launch)

Turn workspace data into public experiences:

  • Viewer — a read-only public table page.
  • Forms — collect submissions into a table.
  • Cards — shareable public pages for individual records.
  • Remote — controlled external access to a table.

Publishing is governed by a Launch / update-settings permission, so only authorized members can make pages public.

Add-ons (the Marketplace)

Install official add-ons to extend a workspace. Available add-ons include:

Add-on What it does
Charts & Visualization Pie/bar/line/area charts from your data; download as images
Card View Show rows as visual cards (cover image or compact)
KPI Dashboard Metric cards (SUM/AVG/COUNT/MIN/MAX), sparklines, cross-tab data
Newsletter / Email Marketing Bulk email campaigns from table data, with open tracking
FruitLink Linktree-style public link-in-bio page from your links
AI Knowledge Base Turn file attachments into a searchable, RAG-powered AI knowledge base
QR Attendance Public QR check-in page that logs attendance against your data
External Database (BYOD) Connect your own REST API as a live data source for a table
Ecommerce Store Publish a public store; orders are logged as table rows
Quiz Build quizzes/tests from table data with auto-grading and timers
Invoice Generator Generate and share invoices
Math Formula Formula/calculation capabilities for your data

Add-ons are installed, enabled/disabled, and uninstalled per workspace, gated by the plugin permissions. Some add-ons (e.g., Ecommerce, External Database) read and write your table data.

Agentic AI (The Workspace AI Agent)

  • A conversational AI agent that understands your workspace and can take actions — for example, creating or updating rows, fetching data, and helping you build things — not just answering questions.
  • Works with Fruitask-provided AI credits or your own OpenAI/Gemini/Claude key.
  • Additional AI helpers include Add row with AI, Fill with AI / autocomplete, and the AI Knowledge Base chat (RAG over your files).
  • Usage is rate-limited (a rolling hourly cap) to keep things fair; bring your own key for higher throughput.

Where to Find It

The workspace and its tables are your main screen after sign-in. Add-ons live on the Add-ons page; AI appears as an agent panel/assistant and as AI buttons on rows; Launch/publish and member/permission controls live in workspace settings and the relevant dialogs.

Requirements & Access

  • A workspace and the appropriate role/permissions for each action.
  • AI features need Fruitask AI credits or your own API key.
  • Add-on management requires plugin permissions; publishing requires the launch permission.
  • Plan tier (Free/Pro/Team/Enterprise) affects limits such as how many workspaces and members you can have.

Limits & Notes

  • AI agent usage is capped hourly on Fruitask-provided credits; this resets automatically.
  • Per-table custom permissions intersect with workspace roles — the more restrictive wins.
  • Some add-ons publish public pages and may need their own configuration (domains, payment, etc.).

Tips

  • Start from a template, then switch views (Grid → Kanban → Timeline) to match the task.
  • Use Custom roles to give clients or contractors exactly the access they need.
  • Install AI Knowledge Base to chat with your documents, and Charts/KPI for reporting.
