Fruitask Storage
Where your uploaded files live — attachments, images, cover media, and exports — with a choice of storage providers and public/private control.
Overview
Whenever you upload a file in Fruitask (a row attachment, a chat file, a note image, a calendar event cover, an automation export), it’s saved through Fruitask Storage. By default, files live in Fruitask’s own storage, but you can bring your own storage provider so files live in an account you control.
Key Capabilities
Storage Providers (Your Choice)
Set your provider in Account → Storage:
- Fileko (Fruitask’s built‑in storage, the default)
- Cloudinary
- Cloudflare R2
- Google Drive
- OneDrive
- Dropbox
When you choose an external provider, your uploads are stored there using the credentials you configure, and Fruitask references them.
Public vs. Private Files
- Files can be public (shareable via a direct link) or private (access‑controlled with temporary signed links).
- You can switch a file between public and private after upload.
Where Files Come From
- Row attachments in tables
- Chat attachments
- Note images
- Calendar event cover media
- Automation outputs (e.g., exported data, AI‑generated images)
Viewing Files
A built‑in file viewer previews common file types without downloading.
Storage Limits & Usage
- Each account has a storage limit and tracks storage used.
- Limits depend on your plan (Free/Pro/Team/Enterprise).
- Storage limits apply to Fruitask’s built‑in (Fileko) storage. If you connect your own provider, capacity is governed by that provider’s account, not Fruitask’s limit.
File Size & Type
- The default maximum upload size is large (up to ~100 MB per file in general uploads).
- Specific features set their own rules — for example, Calendar event covers allow up to 4 files of 50 MB each and accept only images, GIFs, and videos.
Where to Find It
- Provider settings: Account → Storage.
- Files appear wherever you uploaded them (tables, chat, notes, calendar) and in the file viewer.
Requirements & Access
- You must be signed in to upload.
- Using an external provider requires entering that provider’s credentials in your account settings.
Limits & Notes
- If you switch providers, new uploads go to the new provider; existing files keep their original location.
- Private files use temporary links that expire and can be refreshed.
Tips
- Teams that need large capacity or data residency control should connect their own provider (e.g., Cloudflare R2 or Google Drive).
- Keep sensitive documents private; only make files public when you intend to share a link.
